Sealed bids for roof renovations for Woodrow Wilson High School and Coal City Elementary will be received by the Raleigh County Board of Education, 2001 South Kanawha Street, Beckley, West Virginia, 25801 until 3:00 pm EST on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 10:00 am EST at the same location.

Copies of the specifications will be provided at the mandatory pre-bid meeting. The specifications will not be emailed or mailed.

ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY for interested bidders. The purpose of this meeting is to review the specifications and site conditions. Contractors failing to attend the pre-bid meeting will not be permitted to bid.

Pursuant to Chapter 21 – Article 11 of the “West Virginia Contractor Licensing Act” of 1991, all contractors doing business in West Virginia must be licensed to perform work in the State; the contractor’s WV License Number must be affixed to all submitted construction bids and fully executed and binding construction contracts or agreements.

After the scheduled closing time of receipt of bids, no bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty days. All bidders are required to furnish a satisfactory Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid price if the bid is over $25,000.00. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory Performance and Labor and Material Bonds in the amount of the contract price if the contract is over $25,000.00. The Raleigh County Board of Education requires certified payroll on all county construction projects.

The Raleigh County Board of Education or designee reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to make such selection by item or total bid amount as deemed to be in the best interest of Raleigh County Schools.
