Notice is hereby given that BLUESTONE COAL CORPORATION, 302 SOUTH JEFFERSON STREET, ROANOKE, VA 24011 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 579.62 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S401301 to Coal Surface Mine, auger, and highwall mine in the Pocahontas No. 11 (all splits) and Pocahontas 12 seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Little Buzzard Branch, Bone Branch, Round Mountain Branch, Little Pinnacle Creek, and an unnamed tributary of White Oak Branch of Pinnacle Creek of the Guyandotte River; and Buzzard Branch and an unnamed tributary of Buzzard Branch of Elkhorn Creek of Tug Fork of the Big Sandy River of the Ohio river and is located 3.2 miles, Southwest of Herndon in Barkers Ridge and North Fork District of McDowell and Wyoming County, Longitude 81o 24’ 5” and Latitude 37o 28’ 58” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until February 14, 2024, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
