NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ADOPTION OF SOLAR FACILITY SITING AGREEMENT BETWEEN
TAZEWELL COUNTY, VIRGINIA AND HERA SOLAR, LLC
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors and the Tazewell County Planning Commission of Tazewell County, Virginia, will conduct a joint public hearing on January 23, 2024 at 6:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as may be practical, at Nuckolls Hall, located at the Tazewell County Fairgrounds, addressed as 134 Saddlebred Lane, Tazewell, Virginia 24651, and hereby gives its intent to consider a Solar Facility Siting Agreement between Tazewell County, Virginia and Hera Solar, LLC.
The development of sources of renewable energy, including solar energy, is an important strategic objective for Tazewell County, Virginia in the twenty-first (21st) century. The Tazewell County Board of Supervisors and the Tazewell County Planning Commission must balance protectionism and conservationism of Tazewell County, Virginia’s natural scenic beauty and watersheds with the development of sources of renewable energy. Pursuant to Sections 15.2-2204 and 15.2-2316.6 et seq. of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, Tazewell County, Virginia intends to consider a Solar Facility Siting Agreement with Hera Solar, LLC regarding a solar energy facility upon the following real property:

All persons wishing to comment on the Solar Facility Siting Agreement are hereby invited to attend and state their views thereon. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if special assistance is needed to participate in a meeting of the Board of Supervisors, please contact the County Administrator’s Office by telephone at (276) 385-1208, by facsimile at (276) 988-4246, or by email at [email protected]. A notification of five (5) working days before the meeting will enable the County Administrator’s Office to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to the meeting.
A complete copy of the Solar Facility Siting Agreement is posted on the Tazewell County Circuit Court’s bulletin board on the second floor of the Tazewell County Courthouse, located at 135 Court Street, Tazewell, Virginia 24651.
