NOTICE

The McDowell County Commission invites qualified and experienced contractors to submit bids for the remodel of the building located at 85 Wyoming Street Welch, WV 24801. This renovation is to enhance functionality, accessibility, and efficiency of workspace and public area.

Building plans may be picked at the McDowell County Commission at 109 Wyoming Street Welch, WV 24801. Please note there will be a strict timeline that will have to be adhered to.

Bids will be received until noon on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at the County Clerk’s Office. Late submissions will not be accepted. The County Commission nor the County Clerk’s Office will be responsible in the event that the U.S. Postal Service or any other courier system fails to deliver the sealed bid to the County Clerk by the given deadline above. No bids will be accepted via facsimile or electronic submittion.

One(1) set of bid documents, including adequate liability and property damage insurance, proof of valid workers compensaion coverage, contractor’s license, and all other necessary certifications/paper work shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope and marked visibly on the outside of the envelope “McDowell County Building Renovation Project”. This envelope shall be addressed and mailed or hand delivered to the McDowell County Clerk’s Office, Attn.: Linda White 90 Wyoming Street Welch, WV 24801.

The McDowell County Commission reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids and to waive informality or irregularity in the bids received.

Bids will be open and read aloud during a regular County Commission meeting held on Febrary 28, 2024 at 4 pm at the McDowell County Armory located at 600 Stewart Street Welch, WV 24801. If the meeting is cancelled for any reason the opening and reading of the bids will be held at the next regular meeting. Bidders are invited to attend the meeting, but it is not a requirement.
