LEGAL NOTICE AND
INVITATION TO BID

Sealed bids will be received by the McDowell County Commission of Welch, West Virginia for the demolition of selected properties. Bids will be received until 12:00 pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 and will be publicly opened at 4:00 pm at a special County Commission meeting. The Commission meeting will be at the Welch Armory located at 600 Stewart Street, Welch, West Virginia 24801. Bidders are invited to the meeting, but not mandated to attend.

Bid Packets may be picked up at the County Commission Building, Aaron Rutherford, at 109 Wyoming Street, Welch, West Virginia 24801. The actual bid sheet in the packet must be returned.

One (1) set of bid documents, including adequate liability and property damage insurance, proof of valid workers compensation coverage, contractors license, and all other necessary certification/paperwork (Non-Conflict of Interest Certification, Purchasing Affidavit, Drug Free workplace Conformance Affidavit and Coversheet, employment history disclosure, Ethics Disclosure) shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope and marked visibly on the outside of the envelope “McDowell County Demolition Project”. This envelope shall be addressed to the McDowell County Clerk’s Office, Attn: Linda White 90 Wyoming Street, Welch, West Virginia 24801.

The County Commission nor the County Clerk will be responsible in the event that the U.S. Postal Service or any other carrier system fails to deliver the sealed bid to the County Clerk by the given deadline above. No bids will be accepted via facsimile or electronic submission.

The County Commission Reserves the Right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities or informalities in any or all bids, and to accept any bid which is deemed to be in the best interest of the County.
