NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
AN ORDINANCE TO APPROVE A STIPEND FOR SPECIFIC
EMPLOYEE(S) OF
TAZEWELL COUNTY
ADMINISTRATION PERTAINING TO THE DHCD FLOOD RELIEF PROGRAM
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Supervisors of Tazewell County, Virginia, (“the Board”) will conduct a public hearing on April 9, 2024 at 6:30 PM, or as soon thereafter as may be practical, at the Tazewell County Administration Building, located at 197 Main Street, Tazewell, Virginia 24651, and hereby gives its intent to consider An Ordinance to Approve a Stipend for Specific Employee(s) of Tazewell County Administration Pertaining to the DHCD Flood Relief Program.
The Tazewell County Administrator has requested that the Board consider authorizing an award of a one-time stipend of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) to the Executive Assistant to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. Such stipend would be paid by the Board for the period April 15, 2024 through March 31, 2025. This stipend is provided through the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development’s (“DHCD”) Flood Relief Program, and requires no additional taxpayer money to implement. Section 15.2-1508 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, requires that a Board of Supervisors shall enact an Ordinance whenever the Board of Supervisors seeks to provide payment of monetary bonuses to its officers and employees.
All persons wishing to comment on the Ordinance are hereby invited to attend and state their views thereon. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if special assistance is needed to participate in a meeting of the Board of Supervisors, please contact the County Administrator’s Office by telephone at (276) 385-1208, by facsimile at (276) 988-4246, or by email at [email protected]. A notification of five (5) working days before the meeting will enable the County Administrator’s Office to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to the meeting.
