No.: WV0114201 Applicant: BASF CORPORATION 100 PARK AVE FLORHAM PARK, NJ 07932 Location: HUNTINGTON, CABELL COUNTY Latitude: 38:25:27 Longitude: 82:23:28 Receiving Stream: GUYANDOTTE RIVER Activity: Maintain and monitor a closed Class F industrial solid waste landfill (31st Street Landfill) in the drainage basin of Guyandotte River previously utilized for the disposal of industrial wastes generated from the manufacture of pigments at the former BASF plant located in Huntington, WV; Operate and maintain a disposal system and best management practices for the direct discharge of untreated storm water via Outlet 001 to the Guyandotte River. An anti-degradation review has been performed. Tier I protection is for the uses in Title 47, Series 2, Section 6. Business conducted: Closed Industrial Solid Waste Landfill. Implementation: N On the basis of review of the application, the “Water Pollution Control Act (Chapter 22, Article 11-8(a)),” and the “West Virginia Legislative Rules,” the State of West Virginia will act on the above application. Any interested person may submit written comments on the draft permit and may request a public hearing by addressing such to the Director of the Division of Water and Waste Management within 30 days of the date of the public notice. The Director shall hold a public hearing whenever a finding is made, on the basis of requests, that there is a significant degree of public interest on issues relevant to the Draft Permit(s).
