ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS GLENVILLE UTILITY BOARD UV UNIT REPLACEMENT PROJECT GLENVILLE, WEST VIRGINIA Sealed bids for the Glenville Utility Board Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) UV Unit Replacement will be received by the Glenville Utility Board (GUB), 603 West Main Street, Glenville, West Virginia 26351, until 2:00 P.M., L.P.T., on May 24, 2024 for furnishing labor and materials and performing all work set forth in the Advertisement for Bids, Information for Bidders, Bid and Bid Schedule (Bid Form including Unit Price Basis of Bid), General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, Specification Special Conditions, Technical Specifications and Plans (Drawings) prepared by Potesta & Associates, Inc., and all addenda issued prior to receipt of Bids. Immediately following the scheduled closing time for the reception of bids, all proposals which have been submitted in accordance with the conditions of this project will be publicly opened and read aloud. The Work to be bid upon is generally described as follows: Replacement of existing ultraviolet (UV) system with the system purchased by the GUB. UV system work includes the removal of existing UV system, temporary pumping around the UV channel, Peracetic Acid (PAA) disinfection, reshaping the concrete channel to conform to the new UV channel requirements corresponding to electrical work to the new UV system. Construction time limit for the contract is ninety (90) consecutive calendar days to substantial completion for Base Bid work. (POTESTA), 7012 MacCorkle Avenue, SE, Charleston, West Virginia 25304, telephone number (304) 342-1400, upon payment of $50 for electronic copy or $150 for each set of hard copy documents. If paying by check, make check payable to Potesta & Associates, Inc. If paying electronically, call POTESTA at the above number and ask for the accounting department. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Information for Bidders and Form of Proposal will be furnished upon request. A bidder may not withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Glenville Utility Board in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of bids will be returned unopened to the bidders. A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the Glenville Utility Board Office, 603 West Main Street, Glenville, West Virginia on May 8, 2024 at 10:00 A.M., L.P.T. Glenville Utility Board reserves the right to reject any and r all bids. Bidders must comply with the President’s Executive Order Nos. 11246 and 11375, which prohibit discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Anti-Kickback Act, Section 3 Segregated Facilities, Section 109 and the Contract Work Hours Standard Act. Bidders must certify that they do not and will not maintain or provide for their employees any facilities that are segregated on the basis of race, color, creed, or national origin. Federal law prohibits discrimination on the ground of race, color, national origin, religion, age, handicap and sex in this project. Minority firms are particularly encouraged to participate. Bidders are required to have West Virginia Contractor’s license per Section 21-11-11 of the West Virginia code.
