USEPA REVOLVING LOAN FUND APPLICATION – COALFIELD DEVELOPMENT Coalfield Development has submitted an application to the City of Huntington for the use of the City’s USEPA Brownfields Program Revolving Loan Fund (RLF). Coalfield has requested funding from the RLF to perform asbestos containing material remediation at the Black Diamond property. The project site is an approximately 4.89 acre property located at 2923 Park Avenue, Huntington and was first developed in the 1910’s. It has historically been used for industrial production, and after being left vacant was acquired by Coalfield Development in 2019. The USEPA encourages public participation in this application process to ensure the community’s awareness and that the community’s needs are being considered related to property redevelopment. This publication is to notify the public of the 30-day comment period regarding the environmental cleanup project. Project documents will be available for review and comment starting Monday, July 09, 2024 at the Coalfield Development Main Office, located at 2923 Park Avenue, Huntington. A public meeting will be held in-person on July 11, 2024 beginning 5:30pm and ending when all attendees have had an opportunity to comment. The meeting will be held at the West Edge Factory – 1040 Vernon Street, Huntington – in the basement suite of the building and accessible from Vernon Street.
