CALL FOR PROJECTS/PUBLIC NOTICE KYOVA Interstate Planning Commission and the Tri-State Transit Authority (TTA) are jointly announcing a call for projects for Federal FY 2024 under the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5310 – Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities program that fall within KYOVA’s planning boundary of the Huntington, WV-KY-OH Urbanized area as determined by the U.S. Census. Eligible areas include: West Virginia counties of Cabell and Wayne, Kentucky counties of Boyd and Greenup, and Lawrence County, OH. The Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility funding is intended to enhance mobility for seniors and persons with disabilities by providing funds for programs to service the special needs of transit-dependent population beyond traditional public transportation services and ADA complementary paratransit services. KYOVA and TTA, the designated recipients, will administer the project selection process. The application cycle will open January 17, 2025 and conclude at the close of business on February 28, 2025. A Letter of Intent should be submitted no later than January 24, 2025. Only projects that are eligible as defined by FTA regulations and are consistent with the KYOVA TMA Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan will be considered for funding. Those eligible to apply for funding include: nonprofit organizations, local governments, and operators of public transportation services, including private operators. Grant information, supporting documents (Human Services Coordination Plan and Huntington, WV-KY-OH Urbanized maps) and additional instructions, can be found on KYOVA’s website at www.kyovaipc.org under the Transit Tab.
