NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS To maintain necessary clearances for safe and reliable electric service, Appalachian Power Co. plans to manage vegetation along the Curry-Hamlin Road portion of its 12 kV distribution system in Putnam and Lincoln Counties in WV. On or about September 9th, 2019, contract crews will begin to apply herbicides along our rights-of-way. This will encourage the growth of native low growing plants like grasses, ferns, forbs, and shrubs. Converting the right of way from brush and trees to native low growing plant community improves wildlife habitat. A low growing plant cover is more resistant to tree invasion which means less work will be needed in the future, reducing the impact on your property and the environment. Rights-of-way in this area involved in the program are: St. Route 34, US Route 60, Cardinal Park, Lake Hollow Road, Sycamore Ridge Road, Sycamore Road, Laywell Branch Road, Honey Bee Lane, Buff Creek, Kelly Creek Road, Turkey Creek Road, Clymers Creek Road, Lick Creek Road, Trace Creek Road, Martins Branch Road, Bridges Creek Road, Rock Creek Road, Buzzard Creek Road, Hungry Creek. Representatives will attempt to personally contact resident property owners at least seven business days prior to working on their property.
