BLASTING ADVERTISEMENT Notice is hereby given that ERP Environmental Fund, Inc., 216 School Drive, Shrewsbury, WV 25015 intends to conduct blasting on the following surface mining permit. Permit S-5001-90 located 2.0 miles northwest of Amherstdale, West Virginia in the Logan District of Logan County, West Virginia. All blasting shall be conducted in accordance with all State and Federal Laws and as approved by the Department of Environmental Protection at the following schedule of dates and times, unless emergency conditions dictate unscheduled detonation. Blasting will be conducted between sunrise and sunset (approximate daylight hours) from June 01, 2021 to June 01, 2022. Public access to the area prior to and immediately after blasting will be controlled by personnel employed by the permittee who will be posted at key positions at least ten (10) minutes before and after each blasting activity. The pre-blast audible warning from a siren shall sound three (3) minutes prior to blast. A warning signal by siren audible to a range of one-half (1/2) miles from the blast site will be given – three (3) short signals for five (5) seconds duration with five (5) seconds between we each signal. The “ALL CLEAR” signal from a siren shall consist of one (1) long warning signal of twenty (20) seconds duration. No blasting shall be conducted on Sundays. Also as approved by the regulatory authority, blasting activity will not be conducted at times other than those announced, except in emergency situations, where rain, lightning or other atmospheric conditions or operator or public safety dictates unscheduled detonation.
