Application for a certificate of convenience and necessity to operate a taxi cab service in Monongalia County, and limousine and specialized limousine service in Monongalia, Marion, Harrison, Taylor, Doddridge, Randolph, Lewis, Barbour, Preston, Wetzel, and Marshall Counties.

NOTICE OF FILING

On January 6, 2015, Motown Taxi, LLC, (Motown) applied for a certificate of public convenience and necessity for specialized limousine service:

to operate as a common carrier by motor vehicle in the the transportation of passengers in specialized limousine service, through the use of specialized limousines in specialized multi-passenger van service, to and from dialysis treatment, physician offices, hospitals and other health care facilities, such transportation being restricted to those passengers who will receive, or have received, services at such offices, hospitals and facilities, between points and places in Monongalia, Marion, Harrison, Taylor, Doddridge, Randolph, Lewis, Barbour, Preston, Wetzel and Marshall Counties, West Virginia, on the one hand, and points and places in West Virginia on the other hand, subject to the following exclusion: excluding the transportation of those individuals who have medical needs greater than those of the average population and who are expected to require the presence of a trained emergency medical services, which lies with the Commissioner of the West Virginia Bureau of Public Health.

Motown also seeks authority and rates for limousine service:

to operate as a common carrier by motor vehicle in the transportation of passengers in limousine service between points and places in Monongalia, Marion, Harrison, Taylor, Doddridge, Randolph, Lewis, Barbour, Preston, Wetzel and Marshall Counties, subject to the following exclusions: excluding transportation of passengers of railroad companies for railroad-work-related purposes.

Rates:

Sedan Rates:
Flate Rate of $68 per hour with a two hour minimum.

Limo Rates (8 passenger limo):
$400 for the first three hours
$125 per hour for additional hours

Limo Bus (15 passenger Limo Bus):
$650 for the first four hours
$150 for each additional hour

Motown also seeks authority and rates for taxi service:

to operate as a common carrier by motor vehicle in the transportation
of passengers in taxicab service between points and places in
Monongalia County to points and places in West Virginia.

Taxi Rates:
$3.25 for the first 1/7 miles or less
$0.25 for each additional 1/7 mile
Trips over 20 miles will be $0.50 per mile.

Anyone desiring to protest or intervene should file a written protest or request to intervene within 10 days following the date of publication unless otherwise modified by Commission Order. Requests to intervene must comply with the Commission rules on intervention set forth in the Commission Rules of Practice and Procedure.
