PUBLIC NOTICE SURFACE MINING BLASTING SCHEDULE In compliance with Section 4VAC25-130-816.64 of the Virginia Coal Surface Mining Regulations, notice is hereby given that Chestnut Land Holdings LLC, 302 S Jefferson Street, Roanoke, Virginia 24011, having been issued surface mining permit 1302066 located approximately 2 miles West of Rt. 641 and Rt. 16 intersection near Bishop in Tazewell County. Blasting will be in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws and will commence according to the following schedule of dates and times, as approved by the Division of Mined Land Reclamation. January 18, 2015 – January 18, 2016 Sunday – Sunday Sunrise – Sunset Access to the blasting area will be conducted to prevent unauthorized entry at least 10 minutes prior to any blasting event. A warning signal indicated by 3 long single blasts of loader horn – clear all persons; 2 long single blasts – wait 2 minutes;1 long single blast – shoot. An all-clear signal indicated by 3 short single blasts of longer horn – all clear will be audible within a range of one-half mine from the point of blast in accordance with applicable state and federal laws. Blasting will not be conducted at times other than those announced except in unavoidable hazardous situations where operator or public safety required unscheduled detonation as approved by the Division of Mined Land Reclamation. This schedule will be republished and redistributed at lease every 12 months by mail to local governments and public utilities and by mail or delivered to each residence within one half-mile of the permit area described in the schedule. In addition to residents, each person working within one-half mile of the permit area shall be notified of the meaning of the blasting signals.
