No applications will be accepted for an appointment after Friday, February 20, 2015. Taxpayers who desire a hearing before the Board of Assessment Appeals in October of 2015 must submit an application and all related documents PRIOR to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015, when the Commission adjourns Sine Die. No further action can be considered by the Commission after that date and time. All evidence and supporting documentation must be submitted to the Assessor and County Commission by September 1, 2015 in order for your assessment appeal to be heard.
The Monongalia County Commission will sit as a Board of Review and Equalization on the above stated dates. The Commission, may if necessary, add additional days and times. Persons with questions on property values may request additional information and must schedule an appointment by calling 291-7257. AN APPLICATION FOR REVIEW OF PROPERTY ASSESSMENT FOR EACH PARCEL MUST BE COMPLETED TO BE CONSIDERED BY THE COMMISSION. THIS REVIEW IS FOR VALUE ONLY – NOT THE TAX RATE. Any individual with a disability who may require assistance may call in advance to make necessary arrangements.
The Assessor’s Office may be able to correct certain errors if contacted prior to being scheduled to appear before the Monongalia County Commission.
