NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Community Development Block Grant Funds (CDBG) The Town of Pocahontas will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2016, at the Pocahontas Town Hall, 300 Center Street, Pocahontas Virginia, to solicit public input on a proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application to be submitted to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development for the Greater Tazewell Water Supply to Pocahontas Regional Water Project, Phase IV. Residents of the project area are encouraged to attend. The Greater Tazewell Water Supply to Pocahontas Regional Water Project, Phase IV will include the following activities: Waterline replacement, construction of 1 (one) one-million gallon water tank, and 5 (five) master meters. The draft CDBG proposal will be presented for comment along with information on projected beneficiaries, including the number of low-to-moderate-income residents to benefit from the proposed project, and plans to minimize displacement. Citizens will also be given the opportunity to comment on the Town’s past use of CDBG funds. A fact sheet on the proposed project is available at the Pocahontas Town Hall’s offices.
