NOTICE

INVITATION FOR BIDS Grayson County, Virginia is requesting sealed bids for construction of Phase 2 of a pedestrian trail to extend from Nautilus Way, east approximately 1,900 feet along U.S. Route 58 to Industrial Lane. A future Phase 3 of the trail is expected to receive funding in the coming 12 months and is shown on the Phase 2 drawings for reference only but is not a part of the Phase 2 contract. The Work of this contract includes but is not limited to a new 5-ft. wide concrete sidewalk, concrete curb and gutter, new storm drainage structures, traffic control measures along U.S. Route 58 and erosion and sediment control measures. Sealed bids will be received until 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22nd, 2016. The Bids will be opened shortly thereafter, at the Grayson County Courthouse, Board Room, 129 Davis Street, Independence, VA 24348 Grayson County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities and to accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the County. This project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century program (MAP-21) and has DBE requirements. If the Bid is in the amount of $10,000 or more, the BIDDER and the SUBCONTRACTORS must comply with the provisions of the Executive Order 11246, which prohibits discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. BIDDERS must certify that they do not, and will not, maintain or provide for their employees any facilities that are segregated on basis of race, color, creed, or national origin.
