INVITATION FOR BIDS Tazewell County, Virginia and the Town of Pocahontas, Virginia request sealed bids for construction of a multi-use trail to connect the Town Park to the Pocahontas Exhibition Coal Mine. The Work includes but is not limited to a new asphalt paved parking lot, approximately 1150 linear feet of new granular surfaced trail, a new 24-ft. long pedestrian bridge spanning between two existing railroad abutments, approximately 1,200 linear feet of asphalt paved trail, site lighting, fencing and landscaping. This project is funded by TEA-21 funds through VDOT and has DBE requirements. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015 on the 1st floor of the Opera House Building on West St. Clair Street, Pocahontas, VA. Sealed bids will be received at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday January 27, 2015 in the 1st floor Executive Boardroom of the Tazewell County Administration Building, 108 East Main Street, Tazewell, VA 24651. Tazewell County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities and to accept that bid deemed to be in the best interest of Tazewell County.
