NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO CHANGE RATES
SPRING VALLEY HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION
CASE NO. 16-1570-S-19A
The Spring Valley Home Owners Association has filed with the West Virginia Public Service Commission an application requesting increased rates and charges for its customers in Marion County. The following emergency interim rates were approved on January 18, 2017, with Spring Valley required to publish them:
Customer charge – $10.41 per customer per month.
In addition to the customer charge:
Metered customers – Flat rate of $11.62 per thousand gallons of water per month.
Unmetered customers – Flat rate of $29.05 per customer per month (Based on 2,500 gallons of water usage)
The Staff of the Public Service Commission has now reviewed the application and recommended that the following rates be enacted:
Customer charge – $11.06 per customer per month.
In addition to the customer charge:
Metered customers – Flat rate of $12.36 per thousand gallons of water per month.
Unmetered customers – Flat rate of $41.96 per customer per month (Based on 2,500 gallons of water usage)
Both Spring Valley and the Claywood Park Public Service District have objected to the Staff-recommended rates believing that they are too low.
The Commission will adopt rates and charges for Spring Valley which are the same as, greater than or less than the Staff-recommended rates and charges.
Anyone desiring to protest the proposed changes must do so in writing within ten days of the date of publication of this notice. All protests should be addressed to the Executive Secretary, Public Service Commission of West Virginia, P.O. Box 812, Charleston, WV 25323. To help the Commission determine the justification for additional review and investigation, protests should be specific as to reasons that the changed rates and charges should be modified. In addition, anyone desiring a hearing in this matter must demand a hearing in the letter of protest. If no substantial protest is filed, the Staff-recommended rates may be approved without hearing.
