NOTICE OF INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP PUBLIC MEETING DOWNTOWN HUNTINGTON STREETSCAPE PROJECT CITY OF HUNTINGTON, CABELL COUNTY The City of Huntington, in partnership with KYOVA, Federal Highways Administration (FHWA) and West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) will hold an Informational Workshop Public Meeting on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the Marshall Health Network Arena, located at 1 Civic, 1 Center Plaza, Huntington, WV 25701 on the proposed Downtown Huntington Streetscape Project. Initial streetscape proposal efforts focus on 9th Street from 3rd Avenue to 7th Avenue; 8th Street from 3rd Avenue to 5th Avenue; 10th Street from 3rd Avenue to 5th Avenue; and 3rd Avenue from 8th Street to 9th Street. The primary Project goals are to incorporate design themes utilized in Pullman Square throughout downtown and create a secure pedestrian plaza on one block of 9th Street to accommodate events. Other aspects of this project would optimize on-street parking, incorporate historical design elements, and add street furniture and vegetation. The meeting complies with the public involvement requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966. The project will be processed as a Categorical Exclusion Evaluation. A FORMAL PRESENTATION WILL BE MADE AT 5:30 PM The scheduled public meeting is from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and the public will be afforded the opportunity to ask questions and give written comments on the project throughout the meeting.
