NOTICE OF
Ordinance to Amend Municipal
Code of the City of Mullens

Amendment to:
Establish a
Flood Plain Ordinance

On March 19, 2019, the Council for City of Mullens made a motion, which was seconded and regularly passed, in a regularly scheduled City Council Meeting to propose an Ordinance to amend the Municipal Code to the City of Mullens. Said Ordinance relates to establishing a floodplain ordinance and meeting the requirements of Section 60.3(d) of the National Flood Insurance Program, the National Flood Plain Insurance Act of 1968 and West Virginia Code 7-1-3v, 7-1-3n and 7-1-13kk.

Said Ordinance would require all contractors, persons, partnerships, businesses, and corporations to obtain a permit for developement and construction of substantial improvements or relocation of any building or structure and provides for certain minimum standards for construction within the or without the floodplain area. Further said ordinance sets forth certain procedures for submission and approval of plans and establishing penalties for any person who fails to comply with the requirements or provisions of the ordinance.

Anyone affected by this amendment to the Municipal Code to the City of Mullens as it pertains to establishing a floodplain ordinance within the City of Mullens; or, if anyone objects to the said proposed Amendment, may file written statements of protest to the following address: City of Mullens, 316 Moran Avenue, Mullens, West Virginia 25882.

Anyone requesting a hearing in theses matters must request a hearing in the letter of protest and be present at the below listed hearings in these matters in City Council Chambers for the City of Mullens, Mullens West Virginia, wherein hearings and/or first and second reading of the proposed Ordinance will occur.
