NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Public hearing for the following Ordinance will be held during the special meeting of Common Council on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 6:30 p.m., in Council Chambers of Beckley City Hall. All interested parties are urged to attend. ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY OF BECKLEY CODE CHAPTER 15, ARTICLE I, SECTION 15-13(a)(3) ADDING BARBER SHOPS, BEAUTY AND HAIR SALONS TO THE PERMITTED USES IN O/R, OFFICE- RESIDENTIAL TRANSITIONAL DISTRICT WHEREAS, the City of Beckley Planning Commission, meeting in regular session on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, adopted Findings of Fact and forwarded a favorable recommendation to amend the City of Beckley Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 15, Article I, Section 13(a)(3) adding Barber Shops, Beauty and Hair Salons to the permitted uses in O/R Office – Residential Transitional District; and WHEREAS, no one appeared at the Beckley Planning Commission’s public hearing on March 3, 2015, to oppose the proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the City of Beckley Planning Commission adopted the attached Findings of Fact and hereby forwards to the City of Beckley Common Council the Commission’s favorable Recommendation for the adoption of the following amendment to the City of Beckley Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 15, Article I, Section 15-13(a)(3) adding Barber Shops, Beauty and Hair Salons to the permitted uses in O/R, Office-Residential Transitional District: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BECKLEY that Chapter 15, Article I, Section 15-13(a)(3) be amended to read as follow: Section 15-13 O/R Office – Residential Transitional Districts. (a) Permitted use regulations. Permitted uses are: (3) Offices for service, financial, or professional business; barber shops, beauty and hair salons; That any ordinance or ordinances passed by the Common Council of the City of Beckley, which are in conflict with this Ordinance, are hereby amended to incorporate the content of this Ordinance.
