Public hearing for the following Ordinance will be held during the special meeting of Common Council on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 6:30 p.m., in Council Chambers of Beckley City Hall. All interested parties are urged to attend. AN ORDINANCE TO SELL CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT INTERSECTION OF SOUTH FAYETTE STREET AND WILLOW LANE WHEREAS, the City of Beckley is the owner of certain real property located in the City of Beckley, Raleigh County, West Virginia and identified as Lots 38 and 39, District 01, Map 20; and WHEREAS, this real property is no longer of value to the City; and WHEREAS, the City of Beckley is desirous of selling said real property; and WHEREAS, West Virginia Code Chapter 8, Article 11, Section 3 authorizes a municipality to sell real property for fair and adequate consideration provided that the property is sold at a public auction. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BECKLEY that pursuant to West Virginia Code c8-11-3 and c8-12-18, the Mayor and Recorder – Treasurer are hereby authorized to sell real property located at the intersection of South Fayette Street and Willow Lane in the City of Beckley, Raleigh County, West Virginia, being lots identified as Lots 38 and 39, District 01, Tax Map 20. The City has determined the property is no longer of value to the City. The property is to be sold for fair and adequate consideration at public auction to be held in Council Chambers of City Hall, 409 South Kanawha Street, Beckley West Virginia on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. But before making any such sale, notice of the time, terms, and place of sale shall be published as a legal advertisement in compliance with the West Virginia Code.
