NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Public hearing for the following Ordinance will be held during the special meeting of Common Council on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 6:30 p.m., in Council Chambers of Beckley City Hall. All interested parties are urged to attend. AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF BECKLEY TO PURCHASE ONE (1) PARCEL OF REAL ESTATE AT THE CORNER OF STERLING AVENUE AND CLARK STREET WHEREAS, the City of Beckley is desirous of purchasing a parcel of real estate located at the corner of Sterling Avenue and Clark Street in Beckley, Raleigh County, West Virginia; and WHEREAS, the owner Linda L. Panell has offered to convey this lot to the City of Beckley for the sum of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00); and WHEREAS, the City of Beckley is purchasing this property at the request of the Beckley Sanitary Board as part of the Red Brush Sewer Improvement Project; and WHEREAS, the Beckley Sanitary Board, at its June 17, 2015 meeting adopted a Resolution requesting the City of Beckley to purchase this lot. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BECKLEY: That the City of Beckley, for the benefit of the Beckley Sanitary Board, purchase from Linda L. Panell for the sum of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) the parcel of real estate at the corner of Sterling Avenue and Clark Street in Beckley, Raleigh County, West Virginia, said real estate more particularly described in Exhibit “A” attached hereto and made apart of this Ordinance. The Mayor of the City of Beckley is hereby authorized to execute any and all documents required to facilitate this purchase. This Ordinance shall become effective upon passage. 7-9-THU-1-RH; L 3160
