PLANNING COMMISSION

The City of Beckley Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on the 11th of June, 2019, at 4:00 p.m., in the Common Council Chambers, Municipal Building, 409 South Kanawha Street, Beckley, WV, on the petition of New Dominion Properties, LLC, requesting an amendment to the City of Beckley Zoning Ordinance, rezoning nine (9) parcels on the east side of North Kanawha Street, between Quesenberry Street and Elkins Street, from O/R, Office – Residential; Transitional District to R-3, Multiple Family District: 707 North Kanawha Street (owner Paulette J. Buzbee), Map 3, Parcels 67.0, 67.1, 68.0, 69.0 and 70.0; 715 North Kanawha Street (owner EWM Properties LLC), Map 3, Parcels 53.0 and 66.0; 719 North Kanawha Street (owner Mital Patel), Map 3, Parcel 52.1; and, 721 North Kanawha Street (owner Gilbert and Miriam DeLarosa), Map 3, Parcel 49.0. If approved, the rezoning would allow prospective purchaser, new Dominion Properties, LLC to rent 715 North Kanawha Street to Theater WV, to house its headquarters and its academy, and use the premise for rehearsals and other theater related activities and develop four (4) apartments to house actors in the summer and students the remaining nine (9) months of the year.
