NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS – helicopter trimming trees

NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS

To maintain necessary clearances for safe and reliable electric service, Appalachian Power Company plans to manage vegetation along the South Buffalo-Eleanor portion of its 34 kV Distribution system in Putnam County, WV.  On or about June 29th, 2022, a helicopter will begin trimming trees away from power lines.  A ground crew will follow up to remove tree trimmings from streams, roads and maintained areas.  In unmaintained or undeveloped areas, trimmings will remain on site so as to minimize soil disturbance and to promote biodegradation.

Rights-of-way in this area expected to be all or partially involved in the program are:  State Route 34, Kanawha View Rd., Round Knob Rd., Young Rd., Buffalo Creek, and Bowles Dodson Rd., Midway, Alpine Acres, Cobb Hollow.

Company representatives will be present at the time of the aerial saw work.  Specifics regarding your property may be discussed at that time.  If you are a nonresident property owner and have questions regarding our right-of-way maintenance, they may be directed to:
