NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS – manage vegetation

NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS

To maintain necessary clearances for safe and reliable electric service, Appalachian Power Company plans to manage vegetation along the South Buffalo-Buffalo portion of its 34kV distribution system in Putnam and Mason Counties in WV.  On or about August 1, 2023, a helicopter will begin trimming trees away from power lines.  A ground crew will follow up to remove tree trimmings from streams, roads and maintained areas.  In unmaintained or undeveloped areas, trimmings will remain on site so as to minimize soil disturbance and to promote biodegradation.

Rights-of-way in this area expected to be all or partially involved in the program are: Buck Rd., Tillis Rd., Arbuckle Creek Rd., Oldaker Rd., Herdman Rd., Manila Ridge Rd., Smith Rd., and 2 small sections near the intersection of Ohio Apex Rd. and Grandview Ridge Rd.

Company representatives will be present at the time of the aerial saw work.  Specifics regarding your property may be discussed at that time.  If you are a nonresident property owner and have questions regarding our right-of-way maintenance, they may be directed to:
