NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS – Vegetation Management

NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS

To maintain necessary clearances for safe and reliable electric service, Appalachian Power Company plans to manage vegetation along the Bancroft-Poca portion of its 12kV Distribution system in Putnam County, WV.  On or about April 11th, 2022 contract crews will begin to trim and remove trees and brush and apply herbicides along our rights-of-way.  Work will be done in accordance with International Society of Arboriculture guidelines and take into account factors such as tree species, growth characteristics, line voltage, etc.  In unmaintained or undeveloped areas, cuttings will remain on site so as to minimize soil disturbance and to promote biodegradation.

 

Rights-of-way in this area involved in the program are:  Winfield Rd., Gilpen Lane, Cemetery Hill, Black Betsy Bottom, Glenn St., Poca River Rd., St. Rt. 62, Davis St., Strawberry Rd., Raymond City, Riverview Dr., Davis Dr., River St., 1st Ave., Richard Dr., Twin River Park, Spruce Lane, Sigman Rd., Center St., Hanshaw Add., Poca Circle, Triette St., Etta St., Sergeant Square, Morris St., Maplewood Square, Silver St., Muggins Ave., Caruthers Lane, Corey Dr., Janette Dr., Hooper St., Shelton St., White Ivory Dr., Dupont Rd., Burman Ave., Oklahoma Ave., Dodd St., Childers Lane, Charles Lane, Laurel Ave., Glass Add., Holly St., Brandy Lane, Pine Dr., Heizer Creek, Midway Rd., Manila Creek, Hidden Farms, Dickerson Hollow, Spanish Oak Branch, Clear Fork, and Kelly’s Creek Rd./Clay Lick Branch.
