Notice to Customers – Vegetation Management

NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS

 

To maintain necessary clearances for safe and reliable electric service, Appalachian Power plans to manage vegetation along a portion of its 34.5kilovolt and 12kv distribution system in Mercer County and McDowell County W.Va. On or about February 1st thru Dec.29 2021, contract crews will begin to trim and remove trees and brush along our rights of way. Work will be done in accordance with International Society of Arboriculture guidelines and take into account factors such as tree species, growth characteristics, line voltage, etc. In unmaintained or undeveloped areas, cuttings will remain on site to minimize soil disturbance and to promote biodegradation. Rights of way in the area involved in the program are:

 

Minnix Mtn, Montcalm Circuit,  Montcalm ,Sandlick, Rock and surrounding area Mercer County WV

Minnix Mtn Wenonha Circuit, Rock, Lashmeet and surrounding area Mercer County WV

South Bluefield West College,  Mercer County WV

South Blufield East College Circuit, Mercer County WV

Bluefield Ave #4 Circuit, Mercer County WV

Bluefield Ave #5 Circuit, Mercer County WV

Bluefield Ave #6 Circuit, Mercer County WV

Representatives will attempt to personally contact resident property owners at least seven business days prior to working on their property.
