PUBLIC HEARING

Public hearing for the following Ordinance will be held during the special meeting of Common Council on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 6:30 p.m., in Council Chambers of Beckley City Hall. All interested parties are urged to attend. AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP – PARKING AREAS AND TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE OF THE CITY OF BECKLEY TO PROHIBIT PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF LEMP LANE, BECKLEY, WEST VIRGINIA WHEREAS, Chapter 14, Article III, of the Code of the City of Beckley, West Virginia, provides for the establishment of a Traffic Control Map and Traffic Control File; and WHEREAS, because of the narrow width of Lemp Lane, beginning where its intersects with Antonio Avenue, a motor vehicle parked on either side of Lemp Lane may prevent an emergency vehicle from proceeding to its destination in responding to an emergency call on Lemp Lane, therefore creating a safety risk to individuals and property; and WHEREAS, it is now deemed necessary for the Common Council of the City of Beckley to amend the Traffic Control Map and Traffic Control File in the manner provided by 14-302 of the Code of the City of Beckley. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BECKLEY, WEST VIRGINIA: That the Traffic Map – Parking Areas and Traffic Control File of the City of Beckley be, and the same are hereby amended to provide for the establishment of a “No Parking Zone” along both sides of the entire length of Lemp Lane in the City of Beckley, Raleigh County, West Virginia. It is further ordained that the erection of proper signs and markings giving notice thereof are hereby authorized. This Ordinance shall become effective upon passage. 4-23-THU-1-RH; L 2869
