PUBLIC HEARING

Public hearing for the following Ordinance will be held during the special meeting of Common Council on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 6:30 p.m., in Council Chambers of Beckley City Hall. All interested parties are urged to attend. AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE AMENDMENT TO THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP – OTHER THAN PARKING AND TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE – REQUIRING VEHICLES TRAVELING ON MYERS AVENUE TO STOP AT THE INTERSECTION OF MYERS AVENUE AND WORLEY ROAD WHEREAS, Chapter 14, Traffic and Vehicles, Article III, Traffic Control Map and File, of the Code of the City of Beckley, West Virginia, provides for the establishment of Traffic Control Maps; and WHEREAS, it is now deemed necessary by the Common Council of the City of Beckley to amend the Traffic Control Map provided for in Section 14-300 of said Article III, and the Traffic Control File provided for in Section 14-301 of said Article III, in the manner and form provided for in Section 14-302 of said Article III. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BECKLEY, WEST VIRGINIA, that the Traffic Control Map – other than parking – and the Traffic Control File of the City of Beckley be, and the same are hereby, amended to require that vehicles traveling north on Myers Avenue stop at the intersection of Myers Avenue and Worley Road prior to entering said intersection, and that vehicles traveling south on Myers Avenue stop at the intersection of Myers Avenue and Worley Road prior to entering said intersection; and further, the erection of proper signs and markings giving notice thereof is hereby authorized.
