PUBLIC MEETINGS The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection is hosting public meetings to discuss proposed water quality improvement plans for the Upper Guyandotte Watershed. The first public meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m., May 4, 2015 at Twin Falls Resort State Park, RR 97, PO Box 667, Mullens, WV 25882. A second public meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m., May 5, 2015 at Chief Logan State Park, 376 Little Buffalo Creek Road, Logan, WV 25601 Representatives from the WVDEP Division of Water and Waste Management will discuss Total Maximum Daily Load, or TMDL, development for the Guyandotte River and tributaries. A TMDL is a plan of action used to clean up streams that are not meeting water quality standards. WVDEP staff also will present its monitoring and assessment plans for the Upper Guyandotte Watershed, including sampling locations, and what will be monitored.
