INVITATION TO BIDDERS
The Weirton Board of Park & Recreation Commissioners are accepting bids for the complete replacement of the infield playing surface and installation of an outfield warning track at Edwin J. Bowman Field, 200 Municipal Plaza, Weirton, WV. The existing grass on the infield must be removed, surface laser graded to proper level and elevation, excavation may necessary, reinstall grass infield, relocate bases, install and mark base anchors, replace home plate and batter’s boxes, rebuild pitcher’s mound on the field, and in both bullpens. Removal of short outfield grass may be needed to achieve proper elevation and remove lips. Outfield warning track must meet standard regulations, extending a minimum of 15 feet from the outfield fence and circling the outfield from dugout to dugout, preparation of ground for warning track may include minor excavation and tree root removal. by Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Sealed bids will be publicly opened in the office of the executive director on October 6 at 1 p.m. To see the location, examine the installation site or seek more information, call Executive Director Coty Shingle at (304) 797-8522. To receive detailed specifications and a bid packet, please call, or stop in at WMCC. All applicable licenses and permits must be supplied by the successful bidder.
Only original bids will be accepted, no faxes. Bids must include the signed and completed bid sheet, notarized non-collusion affidavit, and the Worker’s Compensation affidavit, if applicable by bidding company. All proposals received must have “EJB Field Work” indicated on the envelope.
The contract to furnish the above items as herein advertised will be awarded by the Weirton Park Board to the firm or persons submitting the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Park Board.
The Park Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received and to accept any bid which it deems most favorable.
