CASE NO. 21-0659-E-P
MONONGAHELA POWER COMPANY AND THE POTOMAC
EDISON COMPANY
Petition for Reconciliation of Surcharge and Regular Review of Vegetation Management Program
NOTICE OF FILING AND
HEARING
On August 27, 2021, the Monongahela Power Company and the Potomac Edison Company (together Companies) filed their petition for review of their Vegetation Management Program (VMP), requesting increased rates for their Vegetation Management Surcharge (VMS) to be effective January 1, 2022. The proposed rates are projected to result in a total annual increase of $16,002,287. This is an overall increase in total revenue and average rates of 1.2 percent. The Companies indicate that the primary reasons for the requested increase are an expiring over-recovery from the last true-up, the cost of trimming, technology enhancements, and increases in labor costs.
The hearing in this case is scheduled to begin on December 3, 2021, at the conclusion of the evidentiary hearing in Case No. 21-0658-E-ENEC which begins at 9:30 a.m., in the Howard M. Cunningham Hearing Room, Public Service Commission, 201 Brooks Street, Charleston, West Virginia, and continuing on December 6, 2021, at 9:30 a.m., if necessary.
Anyone desiring to intervene should file a written petition to intervene not later than November 2, 2021. All petitions to intervene should briefly state the reason for the request to intervene and comply with the rules on intervention set forth in the Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure. The Commission will receive public comments until the beginning of the hearing. All written comments and petitions to intervene should state the case name and number and be addressed to
