NOTICE OF EMERGENCY INTERIM RATE INCREASE
On September 7, 2021, The Newell Company (Company) filed with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia an Application to increase its water rates and charges. On September 8, 2021, the Public Service Commission issued an Order directing Commission Staff to recommend emergency interim rates if the Company is experiencing financial distress.
The Commission Staff performed a preliminary review and recommended emergency interim rates that would increase the Company’s water rates and charges by 29.06% to avoid further financial distress. The current and emergency interim rates are as follows:

These rates are emergency interim rates only and may be increased, decreased, or left unchanged at the conclusion of this case. During the course of this proceeding, Commission Staff will recommend final rates for use by the Company. Those rates will be published at a later date and may be protested at that time.
