NOTICE OF SALE OF REAL PROPERTY OWNED BY
THE COUNTY
COMMISSION OF WOOD COUNTY WEST VIRGINIA AT PUBLIC
AUCTION WITH NO MINIMUM BID
Pursuant to an Order of the County Commission of Wood County, West Virginia entered on December 6, 2021 and in accordance with §7-3-3 West Virginia Code as amended the President of the Wood County Commission shall conduct an onsite public auction of each of the following seven separate parcels of land to the highest bidder for each separate parcel with no minimum bid at the front door of the Wood County Courthouse on the 24th day of January, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.
First: Lubeck District Map 115 Parcel 43, Cherry St., Lake Washington Hgts Adn.
Being Lot 143, Section 1, of Lake Washington Heights Addition, as shown on a plat thereof made by L. G. Merrill, Civil Engineer, dated July 12, 1956, recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Wood County, West Virginia, in Plat Book 9, at Page 69, to which plat reference is hereby made for a more particular description of the real estate hereby conveyed.
Second: Parkersburg District Map 221 Parcel 2A, 1003 N. Power Avenue, Parkersburg
Beginning at a point in the Westerly line of Power Avenue, which said point is 117 feet North of the Northerly line of Hill Street; and thence with said line of Power Avenue in a Northerly direction 81 feet to a point; thence in a Westerly direction parallel with the Northerly line of Hill Street 162 feet to a point in the Easterly line of a 20 foot street or way; thence with the Easterly line of said street or way, in a Southwesterly direction 86 feet to a point; and thence in a Easterly direction 183 feet to the place of beginning, containing 0.29 acres, more or less and being Lot No. 2 of the division of 2.15 acre Tract “b” of Hilltop Addition, as surveyed by O. Meredith on July 17, 1955.
Third: Parkersburg District Map 221 Parcel 2B, 643 Hill Street, Parkersburg
All that certain lot, tract or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the District of Parkersburg, County of Wood and State of West Virginia, more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the northwesterly corner of the intersection of Power Avenue and Hill Street; thence with the northerly line of Hill Street, S. 85 deg. 30′ W. 225 feet to a point; thence in a northeasterly direction with the easterly line of a proposed street (now called Anne Avenue) 124 feet to a point; thence in an easterly direction parallel with the northerly line of Hill Street, 183 feet to the westerly line of Power Avenue in a southerly direction, 117 feet to the place of beginning, containing ½ acre, more or less, and being Lot no. 1 of the ‘Division of 2.15 acre Tract “B” of Hilltop Addition.”
Fourth: Parkersburg District Map 250 Parcel 3, 77 Coolidge Street, Parkersburg
Beginning 8 Feet southwesterly from the curb of Staunton Pike now State Route 47 at the north corner of the lot sold by Rosa M. Morrison and husband to Alice Morrison; thence with the line of said Alice Morrison lot (now Fred Drain) S. 65 – ½ W. 123 feet to a stake corner to Alice Morrison lot (now Fred Drain) in the line of the B. & O. right of way; thence with the B. & O. right of way, N. 26 degrees 11′ W. 70 feet to a stake; thence N. 63 degrees 40′ E. 123 – ½ feet to a stake; 8 feet from the curb of the Staunton Pike; thence along the Staunton Pike and 8 feet from the curb, S. 26 degrees 30′ E. 70 feet to the place of beginning.
Fifth: Tygart District Map 5 Parcel 79A, 109 Crawford Street, Parkersburg
Being all of Lot No. R of Homeland Park Addition No. 3, a plat of which said Addition is of record in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Wood County, West Virginia, in Plat Book No. 4, at page 141.
Sixth: Tygart District Map 5 Parcel 80A, 111 Crawford Street, Parkersburg
Being all of Lot No. S of Homeland Park Addition No. 3, a plat of which said Addition is of record in the Office of the Clerk of the County Court of Wood County, West Virginia, in Plat Book 4, at page 141.
Seventh: Clay District Map 430 Parcel I, 66 Blaze Run Road, Walker
Beginning at a stone an original corner near a large Sycamore neat the mouth of Blaze Run, thence up said run with the meanders of thereof S. 29 E. 6 1/2 piles S. 57 1/2 E. 14-10/25 poles, S. 17-1/2 E. poles S. 12 E. 8 poles, S. 35-1/2 W. 4 poles, S. 1 W. 9-10/25 poles to a small sycamore; thence leaving said run N. 86-1/2 W. 26 poles to a stone; thence N. 231/2 W. 26 poles, 1 foot from Maple pointers; thence N. 66-1/2 E. 24 poles to the place of beginning, containing 5-1/2 acres, more or less.
It is further understood that one-half of the oil, gas and minerals within and underlying the above described tract, together with the right to go thereon and drill is hereby reserved for the benefit of prior owners as stated in Deed dated July 10, 1970 and appearing of record in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book No. 578, at page 380.
This deed is further made subject to a right of way of Hope Natural Gas Company for a 2″ gas line.
Subject to all legal highways, right of ways, easements, restrictions and reservations of record.
Each separate parcel is conveyed in “as is” condition with no covenants of warranty subject to unpaid property taxes and fees. Purchaser shall pay all costs of recording the deed and deed preparation fee advanced to the County Commission in the amount of $202.00 for each parcel.
