City of Weirton,

The City of Weirton Police Civil Service Commission will be conducting a Probationary Patrol Officer Exam. Applications for the position of Probationary Police Patrolman will begin on Monday, January 31, 2022, and must be submitted with a Doctor’s Physical Examination no later than Friday, March 25, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. The Physical Agility Exam portion of the testing will be given on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Registration begins promptly at 8:30 a.m., and the Physical Agility Exam begins at 9:00 a.m. The Written Exam portion of the testing will be conducted on Friday, April 8, 2022. Registration begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. at the Millsop Community Center. Minimum starting salary is $24.72 per hour, including health, and other supplemental benefits which are available in detail at the City Clerk’s Office. The Police Civil Service Commission will award preference points to veterans and/or candidates with prior police experience. Certified documentation will need to be provided. Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 40 at the time of application,and are not required to live within City limits.
West Virginia Certified Law Enforcement Officers: Applicants who are already West Virginia Certified Law Enforcement Officers in Good Standing with a Current Certification (documentation required):
a) Will not be required to take any testing involving bodily condition, muscular strength, agility and physical fitness.
b) Will be given three personal days.
c)Applicants who sign a two-year contract will receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus that will be paid over the course of the two-year contract period. Candidates must apply at the City Clerk’s office beginning January 31, 2022, at the
