LEGAL NOTICE – BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS

IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 8A, ARTICLE 24 OF THE CODE OF WEST VIRGINIA, AS AMENDED, AND THE PARKERSBURG ZONING ORDINANCE A-2530 AS ADOPTED ON FEBRUARY 27, 1973, THE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS WILL HOLD A PUBLIC MEETING AT 6:30 P.M., ON JUNE 15, 2022, IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS ON THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE PARKERSBURG MUNICIPAL BUILDING, ONE GOVERNMENT SQUARE, PARKERSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA, TO CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING APPEALS:

1. Applicant: Aspire Enterprises LLC dba Apricot Lane Boutique Owner: Hughes Property Development LLC

Requesting a variance install one non-illuminated 2-faced sign, 12 feet above grade, between 705 & 707 Market Street. The sign frame is 36″ x 25″ and the sign is 24″ x 12″. This is in a B-3 district.

2. Applicant/Owner: Charles & Cathy Ballengee,
owners, of 1804 9th Avenue.

Requesting a variance to add a 25.5’x30′ room addition onto the rear of the home for her elderly mother. This is a 76 % increase in the size. Also requesting a 2.4 foot side yard variance to even the addition up with the existing home. This is located in a B-1 District.

3. Applicants/Owners: Thomas, Deidre, and Lovie
Burdette, owners, of 1505, 1506, & 1508 Cale Street.

Requesting a conditional use to maintain a home occupation at the homes that he and his parents own. This is in an R-3 District.

4. Applicant/Owner: Nicholas Curry, Curry Transfer
& Storage Company, 2500 36th Street.

Requesting a variance to re-open the property as a charter or private school. And possibly use a portion to operate a multi-use medical facility. Located in an R-2 district.

5. Applicant/Owner: Angela Harper, 2305 44th Street

Requesting a variance to put an addition onto the left side of her house, 1100 square feet, a 130% increase, to house her parents. Also, requesting a 23′ rear yard variance to even the addition with the existing house. This is in an R-2 district.

6. Applicant/ Iced Up dba Snobiz, Owner,
Matheny Development LLC

Requesting a conditional use to operate a small, seasonal, shaved-ice business on this location. In an R-2 District.

7. Applicant/Owner: Ed & Lois Whipkey, 615 Myrtle Street

Requesting a 2-foot height variance to install an 18′ high garage in the rear of their lot to house a semi-truck. Located in an R-4 District.
