Paving Project
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID
The Ritchie County Board of Education will receive separate sealed bids on a general contract for paving areas at the Ritchie County High School/Middle School in Ellenboro, West Virginia.
The project consists of:
1. 1 ½” asphalt overlay of the existing student parking area.
2. 1 ½” asphalt overlay of the existing bus loop.
3. 1 ½” asphalt overlay of the existing rear parking lot and access road.
4. Full depth asphalt pavement (4 ½” base course, 1 ½” wearing course) of the existing large gravel parking area and surrounding athletic buildings.
5. Provide Parking Lot Striping on items 1, 3 and 4 above.
The project consists of two Alternates as follows:
1. Full depth asphalt pavement (4 ½” base course, 1 ½” wearing course) of the existing gravel road from the locker room to the baseball field.
2. Apply Asphalt Sealer and Striping on Main Front Parking Lot and Loop
Asphalt paving shall be in accordance with the West Virginia Division of Highways Standard Specifications.
Bids will be received in the offices of the Ritchie County Board of Education, 134 South Penn Avenue, Harrisville, WV 26362, until 11:00 am, local time on June 9, 2022. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at that time.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at Ritchie County Middle/High School, 201 Ritchie County School Road, Ellenboro, WV 26346 at 11:00 am on May 26, 2022. Attendance is mandatory for prime bidders only.
The bidder to whom the contract is awarded shall execute and deliver to the owner within 7 days after the award, and before signing the contract, a corporate surety bond in a sum equal to at least the contract sum, and the cost of such bond shall be paid by the bidder.
Pursuant to WV Code 21-11-11, Bidders are hereby notified that a current and valid WV Contractor’s License Number shall accompany their bid proposal for their bid to be considered.
The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, the right to waive minor informalities and procedures in bidding, and the right to withhold final award of contract for 60 days after opening bids.
