WVU Medicine Parkersburg Orthopedic Associates

WVU Medicine Orthopedic Associates located at 1600 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg, WV 26101 has applied to the West Virginia Infectious Medical Waste Program located at 350 Capitol Street, Room 313, Charleston, WV 25301-3713 for a permit to construct and operate an Infectious Medical Waste Management Facility. There will not be on-site treatment of infectious medical waste being performed at this clinic. The following is an estimation of the waste generated at the facility on an annual basis:

1. Cultures and stocks of microorganisms and biologicals – 0 pounds
2. Blood and blood products – 0 pounds
3. Pathological wastes – 0 pounds
4. Sharps – 528 pounds
5. Animal carcasses – 0 pounds
6. Body parts – 0 pounds
7. Bedding and related Wastes – 0 pounds
8. Isolation wastes – 0 pounds
9. Any residue or contaminated soil, water, or other debris resulting from the cleanup of a spill of any infectious medical
waste – 0 pounds
10. Waste contaminated by or mixed with infectious medical waste – 0 pounds

Written comments shall include a concise statement of the nature of the issues raised and shall be submitted to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Resources, Infectious Medical Waste Program, within thirty (30) days of this publication at the address above. Anyone may request a hearing on this proposal by submitting the same to the Secretary with a concise statement of the issues raised at the address above within the thirty (30) day comment period.
