AIR QUALITY PERMIT NOTICE
Notice of Application
Notice is given that The Chemours Company FC, LLC., located at Chemours Washington Works, has applied to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, for a Significant Title V Permit Modification for a Commercial, Industrial Solid Waste Incineration Unit associated with the Fluoroproducts production facility identified in R30-10700182-2021 Segment 2 of 14.that is located at 8480 DuPont Road located in Washington Bottom near Parkersburg WV, in Wood County, West Virginia. The latitude and longitude coordinates are: 39 16 15N, 81 40 19W
There will be no change in emissions from the affected unit and process.
The significant permit modification is being made to address changes in the text of the rule as documented in 45 CSR 18.9.c that affected the monitoring requirements for the unit. Clarification of the rule applicability associated with the Federal and State rule changes allows revision of the permit to reflect monitoring appropriate for the unit as installed and operated. Specifically, the pressure drop limitation specified for wet particulate scrubbers does not apply to the Chemours Washington Works installation as the covered equipment, as clarified by the rule, has never been part of the subject facilities.
Startup of operation is expected to begin on or about the 1st day of October 2022, or earlier, pending issuance of the revised Title V permit. Written comments will be received by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, 601 57th Street, SE, Charleston, WV 25304, for at least 30 calendar days from the date of publication of this notice.
