NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONVEYANCE
OF THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY
(Chesterville United Methodist Church, Wood County)
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after January 25, 2023 QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to Trustees of Valley Chapel Community Church all of their right, title and interest in and to all that certain lot or parcel of real estate situate, lying and being in Slate District, Wood County, West Virginia, described as follows:
BEGINNING at a ¾ inch iron pope found on the easterly bank of Little Tygart Creek, said iron pipe being on the westerly property line of a 38.12 acre parcel of land conveyed to Ivan E. Westfall as recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Wood County, West Virginia, in Deed Book 625, at page 100, thence S. 19-02-55 E. a distance of 13.72 feet to a point from which a ¾ inch iron pipe found bears S. 19-02-55 E. 110.50 feet distant; a total distance of 206.02 feet to a point in the center of County Road 40/2, and passing iron pins set at 54.15 feet and 186.63 feet distant; thence with the center of County Road 40/2 and the center of County Road 42, the following eight (8) courses: N. 40-02-05 W. a
distance of 54.65 feet, thence N. 37-56-15 W. a
distance of 57.87 feet, thence N. 32-24-40 W. a
distance of 40.42 feet, thence N. 03-00-41 W. a
distance of 40.90 feet, thence N. 34-54-25 E. a
distance of 42.64 feet, thence N. 47-12-30 E. a
distance of 56.59 feet, thence N. 51-56-31 E. a
distance of 63.80 feet, thence N. 58-36-53 E. a
distance of 6.85 feet to a point on the bridge crossing Little Tygart Creek; thence leaving the center of Country Road 42, and with the said westerly line of Ivan E. Westfall, S. 33-14-06 E., a total distance of 190.00 feet to a point in Little Tygart Creek, and passing an “X” found on the parapet wall of the said bridge at 9.04 feet distant; thence N. 53-05-00 E. a distance of 33.00 feet to the place of beginning, containing 0.843 acres, more or less, as more particularly shown upon that certain Plat prepared by Randy A. Sheppard, L.L.S. No. 860, dated June 11, 1992, attached to and recorded with that Deed dated July 10, 1992 referred to hereinbelow, reference to which is hereby made.
And being the same property conveyed by F. R. Hart to Leon Knopp etals, Trustees of the Chesterville United Methodist Church by Deed dated July 10th, 1992 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 909, at Page 349, reference to which is hereby made.
Said Chesterville United Methodist Church was declared closed effective on November 4, 2022 by a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
