Notice is hereby given that CARTER ROAG COAL COMPANY, 109 APPALACHIAN DR., , BECKLEY, WV 25801 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 26.2 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 47 School Street, Suite 301, Philippi, WV, 26416-1600, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number U011183 to maintain reclaimed deep mine in the Sewell A seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Left Fork of Right Fork of Buckhannon River and Left Fork of Buckhannon River of Tygart Valley River of Monongahela River and is located 3.2 miles, East of Helvetia in Middle Fork District of Randolph County, Longitude 80º 8′ 31″ and Latitude 38º 41′ 51″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until April 30, 2023, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
