PUBLIC NOTICE WEST VIRGINIA MEDICAID PROGRAM STATE PLAN AMENDMENT REGARDING ASSET VERIFICATION SYSTEM Pursuant to 42 U.S.C. c1396a(a)(13)(1997) and 42 C.F.R. c447.205, the Department of Health and Human Resources (“Department”), Bureau for Medical Services (“Bureau”) provides notice of the filing of a state plan amendment (SPA) to confirm to CMS how West Virginia will be establishing its Medicaid Asset Verification System (AVS), an automated system for verifying assets of Medicaid applicants for purposes of determining eligibility. This SPA confirms that West Virginia will be procuring a vendor to create its asset verification system. This SPA will be effective retroactive to July 1, 2016. There is no expected fiscal impact from this state plan amendment in fiscal year 2017. The SPA and this notice will be available for public inspection in each county office of the Department of Health and Human Resources during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., beginning Tuesday, August 30, 2016 through Friday, September 30, 2016, and on the web at: www.dhhr.wv.gov/bms then Public Notices.
