NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONVEYANCE
OF THE UNITED
METHODIST CHURCH
PROPERTY
(Gates Ridge United
Methodist Church, Wood County)
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after June 2, 2023 QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to Gates Ridge Cemetery Association all of their right, title and interest in and to that certain lot or parcel of real estate situate, lying and being in Steele District, Wood County, West Virginia, described as follows:
PARCEL ONE
BEGINNING at a point in the line of Gilbert Thompson (318 DB 282) and thence with the division line of this survey, S. 10-48 W. 296.2 feet, passing a 2″ angle iro at 20.7 feet and continuing to a 1″ iron pipe (set); thence S. 84-48 W. 20.5 feet to a point in the center of a private road; thence with the center of said road the following calls and distances: N. 17-51 W. 80.6 feet, N. 31-34 W. 61.3 feet, N. 25-16 W. 30 feet, N. 13-42 W. 26.4 feet, N. 3-53 W. 48.9 feet and N. 9-53 E. 112.1 feet to a 1″ iron pipe (set) in said Thompson’s line; thence with said tract S. 70-34 E. 144.9 feet to the place of beginning, containing 0.748 acres, more or less, as shown on a plat of survey made of Darrell R. Boice, Licensed Land Surveyor No. 667, of Elizabeth West Virginia, dated December 28, 1984, attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
And being the same property conveyed from Etsel E. Thompson etux to Carol Thompson etals, Trustees of the Gates Ridge United Methodist Church by Deed dated January 25th, 1985 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Wood County, West Virginia in Deed Book 815, at Page 612, reference to which is hereby made.
Said Gates Ridge United Methodist Church was declared closed effective on January 5, 2023 by a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
