NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONVEYANCE
OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY
(Israel United Methodist Church)
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after July 20, 2023 QUITCLAIM, GRANT AND CONVEY to The Trustees of Israel Church, all of their right, title, and interest, in and to those certain tracts or parcels of land situate in New Interest District, Randolph County, West Virginia, and more particularly bounded and described as follows, to-wit:
PARCEL ONE
BEGINNING at a white oak near the road running South 88 East eleven poles to a stake North 2 East 15 poles to a white oak North 88 West eleven poles to a white oak South two West 15 poles to the beginning containing and laid off for one acre of land.
And being the same property conveyed from Jacob Vanscoy and Catherine Vanscoy to the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church by Deed dated June 16, 1845 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Randolph County, West Virginia in Deed Book 16, at Page 314, reference of which is hereby made.
PARCEL TWO
BEGINNING at the North East corner of the old grave yard and running N. 11 3/4 E. 4 1/4 poles to the plank fence to a stone thence N. 71 W. 18 1/2 poles to a stone, thence S. 65 1/4 E. 8 1/2 poles to the South East corner of said old grave yard thence N. 16 1/2 E. 8 1/4 poles, thence S. 75 1/2 E. 10 3/4 poles to the beginning, containing one acre.
And being the same property conveyed from E. A. Vanscoy to the Trustees of the Israel Church by Deed dated May 28, 1894 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 50, at Page 156, reference to which is hereby made.
PARCEL THREE
BEGINNING at a stone north of road, thence N. 7 W. 5.2 poles to a white oak; N. 71 1/2 W. 1.6 poles to a white oak at gate; thence N. 3 W. 13.6 poles to a post, northeast corner of graveyard lot; thence N. 69 1/4 W. 20 poles to post, north corner of the graveyard lot; thence S. 14 W. 12.6 poles to stone in I.O.O.F. graveyard lot; thence with two lines there of S. 66 3/4 E. 13.3 poles to a post; S. 20 W. 9 poles to stone below road; thence S. 88 1/2 E. 15 poles to beginning, supposed to contain 2 1/2 acres.
And being the same property conveyed from R. B. Vanscoy etux to L. M. Skidmore etals Trustees of the Israel Methodist Episcopal Church by Deed dated January 2nd, 1915 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 102, at Page 22, reference to which is hereby made.
SAID Israel United Methodist Church was declared closed effective April 28, 2023 by resolution of a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
