NATIONAL FOREST TIMBER FOR SALE
MONONGAHELA NATIONAL FOREST
The Fork Handle Helicopter Sale is located within Compartment 69, Nicholas County, 1 mile Southeast of Richwood, WV, in the headwaters of North Fork of Cherry River. The Forest Service will receive Sealed bids at Forest Supervisor’s Office, 200 Sycamore Street, Elkins, WV 26241 before or at the time of public bid opening at 2:00 PM local time on 08/29/2023 for an estimated volume of 281 CCF of Black Cherry sawtimber, 328 CCF of Maple (SM, RM) sawtimber, 118 CCF of Hardwood – Other (Hem, BB, Beech, Mag, BG) sawtimber, 2180 CCF of Red & Black Oak sawtimber, 325 CCF of White Oak (CO) sawtimber, 6779 CCF of Yellow Poplar (Cuc, Bass) sawtimber, and 131 CCF of Pulpwood marked or otherwise designated for cutting. In addition, there is within the sale area an unestimated volume of Pulpwood/Topwood that the bidder may agree to remove at a fixed rate. The Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Interested parties may obtain a prospectus from the office listed below. A prospectus, bid form, and complete information concerning the timber, the conditions of sale, and submission of bids is available to the public from the Gauley Ranger District, 932 North Fork Cherry Hwy, Richwood, WV 26261, the Forest Supervisor’s Office, or found on the Monongahela National Forest website at:
