Notice is hereby given that Parkersburg Care Center on 1716 Gihon Road, Parkersburg WV 26101 has submitted an application with the WV Department of Health and Human Resources Infectious Medical Waste Program 416 Adams Street, Suite 530 Fairmont, WV 26554 for a large quantity generator.
The processing permit action for the notice was completed by Kirstin W. Reed, LNHA, CDP 1716 Gihon Road, Parkersburg, WV 26101.

The activity covered by the application includes the following: Sharp containers, blood, blood saturated gauze or bandages and blood specimen tubes are stored in teh infectious waste bins. The facility utilizes an offsite treatment for their infectious waste. Stericycle picks up and transports to a treatment facility for final disposal. Infectious waste is picked up at least monthly.

The Parkersburg Care Center facility is a 66 bed facility that is located along Gihon Road. Our nearest water sources are the Ohio River and Little Kanawha River.
That any interested person may submit a written request for a public hearing, and that the request should contain a concise statement as to the nature of the issues raised.
