PUBLIC NOTICE
CORRECTIVE ACTION PLAN FOR PETROLEUM IMPACTED SITE

In response to a release of petroleum products from regulated tanks, the property owner/operator under the direction of the Tanks Corrective Action Unit of the Department of Environmental Protection developed a draft corrective action plan (CAP) for the following site:

Elkins, West Virginia

The CAP briefly describes the extent of the release and details the proposed cleanup methods at the site. In-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) injections using persulfate activation by ferric iron oxide are proposed for the site. The objective of the chemical oxidation event is to target treatment areas observed to contain both groundwater and soil contamination associated with Par Mar #84 and utilize advanced oxidation technologies across the site for remediation.

Interested parties may submit written comments during the 30-day period beginning October 5, 2023 through November 5, 2023.
