AIR QUALITY PERMIT NOTICE
Notice of Application
Notice is given that The Chemours Company FC, LLC has applied to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Division of Air Quality (DAQ), for a Construction Permit for a new polymer compounding unit within the fluoropolymers production area located on 8480 DuPont Road, Washington, West Virginia near Parkersburg, West Virginia located in Wood County, West Virginia. The latitude and longitude coordinates are: (39.2700073, -81.674519).
The applicant estimates the increased annual potential to discharge the following Regulated Air Pollutants will be:
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) .482 tons
Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) .037 tons
(Hydrogen Fluoride)
Particulate Matter .047 tons
Fluorides (COF2) .221 tons
Trifluoromethane (F-23) .118 tons
Pentafluoroethane (K-125) .012 tons
This application reflects installation of new equipment for blending, extruding, and treating polymers. Installation of the equipment is expected to take place in the latter part of 2024. Written comments will be received by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, 601 57 th Street, SE, Charleston, WV 25304, for at least 30 calendar days from the date of publication of this notice.
